Job # 1356 REALIGNMENT
Situation: Dan has taken over responsibility for two additional product lines in various stages of product lifecycle. Dan has 50 sales people requesting different product support materials. Dan has no idea where the material is stored, last revision date, or obsolescence rate on materials.
Old Way: Dan has the art department pull artwork and rerun small quantities to cover his short term needs. Materials are delivered and Dan stays late to help put together sales kits for the field. Two months later someone finds 10,000 kits in a storage closet. Dan watches his budget get tossed out with the garbage as he suffers 30-40% obsolescence rate on his materials.
Page Way: Dan opens his internet link to Page/International’s fulfillment center. Dan views real-time inventory, product movement, and sales requests by rep and by office. Dan flags aging material to prevent reprints and views PDF files of product materials in the warehouse. Dan receives accolades for reducing his obsolescence rate to 1/3 the industry average. Dan now has budget room for one last project he wanted to get done.
